Old Employee, more than than 5 years
Pros
Didactics staff is usually dedicated to excellence.
Cons
People are regularly hired for one teaching position and then moved to another. Various staff members are told to write their own job descriptions because the schoolhouse doesn't have a articulate thought about what they want positions to be or what the bodily staff does. Assistants constantly asks for staff to be "flexible" while showing no flexibility in return. Expectations are not clearly communicated past administration. There are people in positions that they have not been clearly told what they are to practice in those positions. At that place are people in positions that do not take the training or background to concord those positions. The school decided to merge two campuses together at the primary school level before adequate physical space is available. No split PA system for the school housing which means all announcements made in school are circulate in the residence section. The same about the schoolhouse bells during the day. This means family unit that may be at domicile, or a ill staff member, must hear all school announcements and bells in 1'southward dwelling house. Good teachers were let become or left only because they didn't want to exist forced to live in school housing which was just steps abroad from the teaching buildings. The school valued having teachers live in the school housing rather existence good solid defended teachers. The school said, if yous don't want to live hither, then that's your conclusion. Meanwhile, it'south not a determination at all since the school took abroad the housing assart. During interviews, the staff involved cannot share the true feel working there with the candidate considering their boss is there with them. Professional person evolution opportunities are hit and miss. Mostly miss for many teachers. Don't look to attend PD every year. Some teachers went years without paid PD. Some departments are more taken care of than others. I've seen teachers have mental and physical health issues because of the level of stress of having so many frustrations working at the school. Management does not intendance about the didactics staff. Information technology will ask for opinions and send out surveys from time to time; however, the results of the survey are not shared and changes practice non commonly happen. The Ac is turned on for students, but once they leave, the Air-conditioning is turned off even though there are teachers there working on lesson plans, grading, doing whatever boosted duties they were assigned. There is an increase in levels of management which slows downward procedures and negatively affects the quality of education and services of the school.
